As we all are aware that COVID-19 is rapidly changing the
dynamics of the world, and we need to change with it as well. The excessive use
of face masks has been seen in the year 2020, this is because of the
coronavirus outbreak, many brands have seen this as an opportunity to capture
the market. The global market for face masks was valued at 32.76 billion dollars
in the year 2018 and is estimated to rise to 50.91 billion dollars by 2025. Designers
in the UK have started to manufacture face masks that are reusable, this will
benefit the people as well as the environment. This cause aimed to generate one
million pounds for charity to help in fighting against the COVID-19 outbreak.
Mulberry, Rixo, Raeburn, Julien Macdonald, Liam Hodges as
well as Halpern have come together to join this cause. All these masks are
being manufactured at the factory “Bags of Ethic” and will be sold at the
retail price of 15 pounds, this price is for a pack of three masks that will be
reusable. This campaign will acknowledge the efforts of all the British brands and
help the country achieve sustainability in a time like this.
“Fashion is a unifying
force and now, more than ever, it is essential that we collaborate and come
together to support each other through difficult times”.
